Cooma is an Australian town that is found in the southern part of New South Wales on the eastern side of Australia. Cooma is known as the 'Gateway to the Snowy Mountains' and is located about 120 kilometres south of Australia's capital city, Canberra, which is in the Australian Capital Territory.

You can get to Cooma by driving along the Monaro Highway or the Snowy Mountains Highway which many tourists visiting the Australian snowfields during their winter holiday's do.

Today, Cooma has a population of approximately 7000 as it continues to thrive as a tourist attraction. Many people stop over in Cooma for a night when visiting the snowfields.
